Reproductive Freedom & Abortion Access (RFAA) Programming
This program is housed under the California Department of Public Health
August 2024 – June 2027
Love Liberated is grateful to be a recipient of California’s Reproductive Freedom and Abortion Access (RFAA) grant. This multi-year funding allows us to deepen our work at the intersection of sexual well-being, reproductive justice, and QTBIPOC community care in Sacramento.
We know that many of our people have been left out of conversations about sexual health. Left out of care. Left out of access. Through this initiative, we are creating space for education, healing, and connection that is culturally rooted, radically affirming, and built around the actual needs of our community.
What This Funding Supports
Listening First.
We began this initiative by centering the voices of our people. In February of 2025, we hosted two community listening sessions (Both virtual and in person) to hear directly from BIQTPOC community members in Sacramento. We asked what was missing, what’s working, and what real support looks like. These listening sessions assisted us in understanding what our community needs and what they would like to see.
Annual BIQTPOC Health Fair.
Every year since 2023, We have partnered with SacfilipinxLGBTQIA+ to host the Spring Into Wellness BIQTPOC Health fair. With this Funding we have been able to expand our reach. Once a year, we will continue hosting Spring into wellness! This health fair designed specifically with and for Black, Indigenous, Queer, and Trans people of color. These events will offer free access to sexual and reproductive health resources, community-led healing services, and opportunities to connect, learn, and celebrate ourselves in full.
Sexual Health & Reproductive Justice Workshops.
Over the course of the grant, we’ll facilitate six workshops (two each year) focused on topics our communities are often excluded from—like abortion access, navigating non-monogamy, consent, pleasure, safer sex practices, and reclaiming body autonomy. These workshops are led by people who reflect our community, and grounded in honesty, cultural humility, and trauma-informed care.
Sexual Liberation Open Mic Nights.
As we have in previous years, We will continue with hosting our erotic open mic nights. We will be holding three open mics (one per year) throughout this program will offer more space for erotic expression, storytelling, poetry, music, and more.
Educational Materials.
In our second year of this grant, Six educational worksheets will be created and distributed ensuring accessible tools covering the topics from our workshops and more. These resources are made for BIQTPOC folks of all identities, life experiences, and access levels.
Online Resource Hub.
By the final year of this initiative, we will have launched a digital resource hub that brings it all together. A space to access everything we’ve created. Our worksheets, recordings, community-vetted resources, local referrals, and more. This is about keeping knowledge circulating, accessible, and available for our community.
