It’s Juneteenth! Come Celebrate with us!

Happy Juneteenth to our Blaqueer community!

We hope that you are able to experience the highest amount of joy, rest, relaxation, and reparations on this day and every day!

If you haven’t heard yet, we are so excited to be co-hosting a Juneteenth, A Blaqueer Family Cookout with Haus of Do Events and Black Queer Sacramento

This event is specifically for Black Queer individuals and their chosen families to come together for food, music, conversations, and community! Some individuals have asked what to bring, so we made a signup list for folx to fill out. We’re still looking for someone to be our grill master, so if you’ve got the skills, come through! Otherwise, we’ll be having a potluck.

Click here to let us know what you’re bringing!

Come find us TODAY Wednesday, June 19th, 2024 from 4pm-7pm at William Land Park, 3800 W Land Park Dr, Sacramento, CA, off Riverside on 12th Ave, across the street from the bathrooms.

In the words of Ericka Hart “Let this Juneteenth holiday also serve as a reminder that Black people fought and freed ourselves in 1863 and again in 1865 in Galveston, TX. No piece of paper or decree from our enslavers freed us (that just as quickly could enslave us and did). Our ancestors freed themselves through rebellion, revolt, escape, maroonage, armed resistance, spiritual work and warfare, over the course of 400 plus years.”
